Dental Clinic Website Cost in India: What You Actually Pay For
A dental clinic website in India costs anywhere from a few thousand rupees a year to a few lakh, and the price says almost nothing about whether it will bring patients. Here is what each band actually buys, the yearly costs nobody quotes upfront, what a clinic site must include to earn its keep, and the questions that stop you paying for the wrong thing.
The short version
- Three bands: template builder (cheap, you do it), freelancer build (mid, one person), studio build (higher, treatment pages, tracking and local SEO included).
- The running cost matters more than the build cost. Ask about year two before you sign.
- A site that does not list the doctor, every treatment, real reviews and a WhatsApp button is not a cheap site. It is an expensive one that does not work.
- Own everything: domain, hosting, analytics, code. In the clinic’s name, from day one.
Why the price range is so wide
Two clinics can pay the same amount and get completely different things. One gets five template pages with stock photos and a contact form nobody uses. The other gets a page for every treatment, the doctor’s credentials up front, real reviews, tracking that shows which page each enquiry came from, and a listing that points to it. Both are called “a website”.
So the question is not “how much does a website cost” but “how much does a website that brings patients cost”, and the answer depends on how much work the site has to do. A clinic that is full from referrals needs the site to exist and look credible. A clinic with empty Tuesday chairs needs the site to rank and to book. Price accordingly.
The three bands, in 2026 rupees
These are market ranges we see in Bangalore and other metros, not a quote. Smaller cities run lower; the work is the same.
Band one: a template builder, done yourself
Roughly ₹3,000 to ₹15,000 a year, on Wix, Squarespace or a similar builder, plus the domain.
You get a site that exists. It will be slow on a phone, it will look like every other clinic on the same template, and it will not rank for treatment searches. It is fine for a clinic that is full and needs a place for the address and hours. It is not fine as the thing your Google listing sends patients to.
Band two: a freelancer build
Roughly ₹40,000 to ₹1,00,000 one-time, usually on WordPress, plus hosting from ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 a year and someone to update plugins.
You get a custom-looking site from one person. Quality varies enormously with the person. The common gaps: no treatment pages beyond a list, no tracking, nothing set up for local search, and a site that slows down over a year as plugins pile up. Ask who maintains it in month seven, and who owns the hosting login.
Band three: a studio build
Roughly ₹1,50,000 to ₹4,00,000 one-time, sometimes with a monthly fee for ongoing work.
You get the site as a system: a page for every treatment written for what patients search, the doctor and credentials up front, real reviews quoted, WhatsApp and phone on every page, analytics and call tracking in the clinic’s own accounts, and the Google Business Profile set up to send patients to it. Built fast, usually without a heavy CMS, so it stays fast. This is the band where the site is expected to bring patients, and the price reflects the pages and the tracking, not the design.
The honest middle: a good studio build for a single-chair clinic sits near the bottom of this band. A multi-specialty practice with twenty treatments and three doctors sits near the top.
The costs nobody mentions upfront
- Domain renewal: ₹800 to ₹1,500 a year for a .in or .com. Register it in the clinic’s name, on the clinic’s email.
- Hosting: a static site can host for nearly nothing; WordPress needs ₹5,000 to ₹15,000 a year of decent hosting, or it will crawl.
- Maintenance: updates, backups, a broken form nobody noticed. Either a monthly care plan or a person on call. Our website care page explains what that covers.
- Photos: the single biggest reason clinic sites look like templates is stock photos. A half-day with a decent photographer, ₹8,000 to ₹20,000, pays back for years.
- Content: treatment pages written properly are work. Some studios include them; most freelancers do not. Ask.
What a clinic site must include to earn its keep
Whatever you pay, check the quote for these. Missing any one of them is where a cheap site becomes an expensive one.
- Fast on a phone. Test the current site on your own phone on mobile data. If it takes more than three seconds, patients leave.
- The doctor, by name, with credentials and a real photo. Patients in India choose a doctor. This is the page they look for.
- Every treatment on its own page, with what it is, a price range, how many visits, and what to expect.
- Real Google reviews, quoted word for word, so the site matches the listing.
- WhatsApp and the phone number one tap away on every page. Most Indian patients would rather message than fill a form.
- Tracking in the clinic’s accounts: Google Analytics, Search Console, and call or WhatsApp click tracking, so you know what the site sends you.
- The address, hours and a map that match the Google listing exactly.
A site with all seven and plain design beats a beautiful one with three of them, every time.
The questions that stop you overpaying
Ask these before you ask the price. The answers tell you more than the number.
- Who owns the domain, the hosting and the code? The clinic, in the clinic’s accounts, or walk away.
- What happens in month seven when a plugin breaks? If the answer is a shrug, budget for a care plan.
- Are treatment pages included, and who writes them? “We will add a services section” is not treatment pages.
- Is tracking set up, and in whose account? No tracking means no way to know if the site works.
- Can I see a live clinic site you built, and can I click it? Not a mockup. A real one, with a real Google listing beside it.
- What does it cost to leave? The right answer is nothing, because you already own it all.
What we charge, and why we will not quote here
We build in band three, and we scope after a free audit of the clinic’s current site and listing, because a single-chair clinic and a three-doctor practice do not need the same work, and charging them the same would overcharge one of them. Two of the sites we built are live and named: The Tooth Corner in Bellandur and Tooth District in Koramangala. Click them, check their listings, and judge the standard yourself.
Want this handled for you?
If you run a dental practice, start with the free practice audit: your current site and listing beside the top three in your locality, what the gap costs, and an itemised scope before you commit to anything. Get the free practice audit, or read how we approach websites for dentists. No obligation, no sales pitch, and you can take the list above to any freelancer if you would rather.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a dental clinic website cost in India?
Roughly three bands in 2026: a template builder you run yourself for a few thousand rupees a year, a freelancer build from about forty thousand to a lakh, and a studio build with treatment pages, tracking and local SEO from about one and a half lakh upwards. The right band depends on whether the site needs to bring patients or only exist.
What is the yearly cost of running a dental website?
Domain renewal, hosting, and someone to keep it updated. A well-built static site can host for almost nothing; a WordPress site usually needs paid hosting and monthly care. Budget for the running cost before the build cost, because that is the one that surprises owners in year two.
Is a Practo or Justdial profile enough instead of a website?
No. Those profiles list you beside every competitor and send the patient's enquiry through their system, on their terms. A website is the one place a patient sees only you, and the enquiry comes straight to your WhatsApp. Keep the profiles; do not depend on them.
Should the clinic own the website, or the agency?
The clinic, always. Domain, hosting, analytics and the code should be in the clinic's own accounts from day one. If an agency builds inside its own accounts, the day you leave you start from zero. Ask this question before you ask the price.
How long does a dental website take to build?
A template, a weekend. A freelancer build, three to six weeks. A studio build with treatment pages, photos and tracking, four to eight weeks, and most of that is waiting for the clinic's photos and treatment details. Have those ready and the build halves.
